MCHENRY, Md. -- The Alderson Broaddus wrestling team scored bonus points in all five of their victories and added a pair of forfeit wins to claim a 40-14 victory over host Garrett College Friday night.

After a pair of forfeits to open the match, the Battlers held a 12-0 lead. Curtis Cox turned in a dominate performance scoring a second period tech fall, 21-4, to earn his 75th collegiate win.

Camren Ritchey continued the Battler momentum scoring a pin at the 1:56 mark of the first period to stretch the AB advantage to 23-0.

"Camren wrestled really well," said head coach Sam Gardner. "He had a big group of family and friends here to watch him tonight and he turned in a really great performance."

The Lakers got on the board with a tech fall at 157, but Nick Sulhoff got the Battlers back on track at 164 with a first period fall to take the lead back out to 29-5.

Garrett scored a fall in the match at 174, but Tristin Breen answered with a first period fall at 184 and Gino Sita tallied his 11th tech fall of the year, 18-2, at 197 to give the Battlers a 40-11 advantage.

The Lakers closed out a match with a 5-2 decision at 285 to set the final.

"Overall it was a pretty strong night for us," said Gardner. "It's always nice to get bonus points and we did that consistently tonight. We are still a young group with things to work on, but nights like these are very encouraging."
