WHEELING, W. Va. -- Gino Sita and Nick Sulhoff each earned individual championships as the Alderson Broaddus wrestling team finished third at the West Virginia Collegiate Invitational Saturday.

Sulhoff was dominant at 165 scoring bonus points in all three of his matches. In the opening match Sulhoff scored a tech fall before back-to-back pins in the semifinals and finals.

"I was really with Nick's performance," said head coach Sam Gardner. "He's capable of wrestling like that every time out."

Sita opened with a tech fall before scoring a decision to claim his third tournament title of the season. Sita ran his record to 28-4 on the year.

Three other Battlers reached the finals match. At 133, Curtis Cox advanced to the final, but fell in sudden victory. After a hip toss leading to a fall in the semifinal, Tyler Bauer dropped a 3-2 decision in the finals. For the second week in a row, Josh Dailey made the final at 197 advancing through the semifinals with a fall before falling in the final.

"I'm hurting for the guys who lost close matches in the finals," Gardner said. "There are a few little things they need to do to turn those bouts around, but it begins with confidence. They need to believe in their attacks. They are on the cusp of really breaking through."

Breandan Coughlin posted a fourth place finish. Levi Hobbs and Jared Burgoyne each finished in fifth place.

The Battlers are back in action on Friday when they travel to Tiffin for the Inaugural Great Midwest Athletic Conference Duals.
