SSAC to Parkersburg South: "Don't Even Bother Showing Up"

PARKERSBURG -- Authorities with the SSAC in Parkersburg have notified Parkersburg South High School that their presence at the 2011-12 state wrestling tournament will not be needed.

"Everybody knows they are going to win it. Heck, they are probably going to win it for the next 5 or ten years. Why bother making them show up?"

Plans are to just mail the championship trophy to Parkersburg South, along with several individual championship trophies to be distributed to team members at the discretion of their coach.

"This should save money for gasoline, travel expense, and tournament administration," the official noted. "Plus, if the South fans don't come, maybe somebody else will have a chance to get a room in the Holiday Inn across the street from the Civic Arena for a change."
