No. 7 Wrestling defeats Urbana, 42-5

URBANA, Ohio (Dec. 8) - The No. 7 Wheeling Jesuit University wrestling team cruised to a 42-5 win over Urbana in a dual Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals (4-2) took eight matches and picked up a forfeit to earn the victory against Urbana (0-2). The Blue Knights are in their first year as a full varsity program this season.
"We did a nice job tonight dictating position from start to finish," said Head Coach Danny Irwin following the win. "We rested some of our guys fans would normally see, but we didn't miss a beat and that's exactly what our expectations have to be if we are going to be elite every year."
Wheeling Jesuit opened up a 19-0 lead in the dual with the help of a major decision by sophomore Jacob Donahue (Massillion, Ohio/Massillon Washington) at 133 and a fall by classmate Jared Donahue (Vienna, W.Va./Parkersburg) at 141.
Urbana got its only points of the match at 157 on a technical fall, but the rest of the Cardinal lineup cleaned up with falls by sophomore Connor Craig (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) at 174, sophomore Aidan Pasiuk (Carrollton, Ohio/Carrollton) at 184, and junior Seth Bloor (Wellsville, Ohio/Wellsville) at 285 to close out the team's fourth dual win this season.
Next up, Wheeling Jesuit will travel to Bristol, Rhode Island on Saturday, December 15 to take on a few different schools at Roger Williams University, including the host Hawks.
"The team is excited to go to the east coast next weekend," added Irwin. "Our last dual out there is against a premiere program on their home turf. This will be a big stepping stone towards our goals when we head to national duals in Louisville."
