Tripke 3rd and Lambiotte place 5th in Waynesburg Invitational

Waynesburg, Pennsylvania – Anthony Tripke and T.J. Lambiotte were able to place third and fifth respectively this weekend for Ohio Valley grapplers at the Waynesburg Invitational. The Scots were able to place 13 out of 16 teams with just five wrestlers scoring a team total of 49.5 points on the day.

Junior Tripke 125 lb. (North Port, Florida) was able to go 4-1 on the day and finish the third place match off with a 4-3 decision over Jimmy Murphy from Thomas Moore College. He also had a 17-5 major decision over Deonte Carter of UMBC on his way to the third place showing.

Freshman Lambiotte 165lb (Mineral Wells, West Virginia) continued his good season, as he was able to also place in the tournament in fifth place. He won the match with a fall at 1:46 into the match against Tyler Rendina who was wrestling with no attachment.

Ali Copabianco Jr. 174 lb. (Albrightsville, Pennsylvania) was able to win three of his five matches on the afternoon. Winning two of them with pins in the wrestle backs. Tyler Koreski (Parkersburg, West Virginia) 195 lb. left with a five hundred mark on the day finishing at 2-2. His best win came on a 13-2 major decision again Karl Tayeb from John Hopkins.

Sam Phillips (Parkersburg, West Virginia) 157 lb. was also able to record a win on the day as he finished at 1-2. The win came against Mount Union wrestler Kyle Jenkins on 5-1 decision.

What's Next: Scots return to action next Sunday as they travel to Alliance Ohio and take part in the Purple Raider open with the first match at 10 A.M.
