Scots Compete in Mount Union Invitational

Alliance, Ohio- Ohio Valley University's Wrestling Program competed in their first event of the 2018-2019 season. The Fighting Scots were one of the countless programs competing in the Mount Union Invitational. As a team, Ohio Valley did not score but had several wrestlers place in the top five of their respected weight classes.

Dalton George was able to pick his way through the 165 lbs class defeating J. Willochell (9-4) from Seton Hill, A. Taylor (pin), and G. Ciotti (9-3) from Gannon. George would be defeated by S. O'Hearon by a score of 3-1 in the championship bout and finish in 2nd in the 165 lbs division.

T.J. Lambiotte would finish fourth in the 174 lbs division. Lambiotte would pin Bret Lane from Ohio Northern, then would also pin C. Homan from Mount Union in the next round. Lambiotte would then drop his next bout to D. Greenwald of Seton Hill, but win the next match due to pin once again, this time pinning C. Eames of Brockport. A. Sams of Bellarmine would beat Lambiotte in the final round, slotting Lambiotte a fourth-place finish.

Tyler Koreski would also finish the invitational earning forth place. Koreski would start the day with a pin of Gehrig Hutchison of Gannon. Then Koreski would win his next bout 9-4 over J. Hunter of Brockport. J. Yanis of Brockport would pin Koreski in his next bout, but Koreski would pin G.Hutchinson of Gannon to advance. Koreski would fall in his final match of the day to C. Droege of Lake Erie.

Ohio Valley will now focus on West Virginia University Institute of Technology for their next meet on November 16th.
