Mountaineer Youth Novice States

Due to some confusion on the deadline for registration (3/9 vs/ 3/13) and/or lack of interest the numbers for this tournament are very low. Approx. 70 currently. In order to break even when holding an event like this would be 150 wrestlers. The reason the deadline was changed was due to the lead tim...

Re: Ref at St Albans high youth championship

I am VP of the league. That referee will not do any more youth league matches. Although some of the ejections were unwarranted. Some were. I went to another youth league match in Huntington today. Totally different environment. No parents on the mats was delightful.

Re: AAA region comparison

And I will wager that 30+ of those AA/A teams put no more than 8 wrestlers on the mat. Just looking at the raw numbers of how many schools are in AAA vs AA/A is deceptive. Look at the top of the AA list. Lincoln is the largest and has 7 or 8 wrestlers. RCB is the 7th largest AA school and they have...

Re: South Charleston

SC has 5 wrestlers and 3 are 285. Dunbar and SC middle haven't had programs for as long as I can remember! SC doesnt have close to a full team for the same reasons that Capital doesnt. No support from the administration or football coaches.

Re: Regional Stats

   Hard to argue data like that. So disappointing for this wonderful sport. What are the objections or obstacles to eliminating the "A" classifications for wrestling in the state and having one true WV state champ? Also, helping to correct the lack of participation and...

Re: Kanawha County Championship

It was Capital's turn this year in the rotation as the administration was informed of the date at the end of last season. Over the summer I was informed that Capital could not host the tournament due to show choir competition. Sorry. I wish there was more support for wrestling by the administration ...
