Will the WV state finals be streamed live?

Is WV the only state that doesn't stream the entire state tournament (Flo or Track)? WV has some really good wrestlers but they aren't getting noticed like other states. College coaches are at their conference tournaments this weekend and then Nationals. It would be great if they could go online and watch the state tournament. I asked a D1 coach a week ago if he's recruiting any WV kids and he laughed and said he doesn't know much about them bc he cant see anything online.

Not every state does and obviously WV is one of them. I imagine it has to do with money. Either Flo charges a fee and the "powers-that-be" don't want to pay it, or they are afraid that if it is streamed then less people will come buy tickets to watch in-person.

As far as exposure to D1 goes, that falls on more than just info being online. My son had interest from several D1 schools in multiple states largely because he and I put effort into contacting them, attending events, attending camps, and/or making ways to get his info in front of them. I can tell you that he regularly texted with at least one D1 coach and received texts congratulating him on his semi-finals win and wishing him good luck in the finals. If a wrestler wants to wrestle in college then the best thing he can do is make contact with the coach himself.

WV should definitely make this a top priority! It really wouldn't be that difficult to set up either. We would just need a volunteer on each of the 8 mats to record.

The lack of a livestream is unacceptable and the WVSSAC needs to step up. The OVAC finals are streamed live by John Marshall High School students. Surely our state tournament deserves as much. Come on WV high school principals— demand a little more for these kids that work so hard.

It's really kind of embarrassing that the finals are streamed behind a paywall and that the matches aren't reordered to be posted somewhere.

Facebook Live is free. There's a WVMat YouTube channel where Winner's Choice finals were posted up until the pandemic. There's really no excuse not to have an archive of finals matches at least.

I don't have the greatest video phone camera...
and I got distracted at times not watching through the lens...
and I concentrated on AAA...
and I am a novice on video feeds...
but you can see the majority of the matches.
