Bear Tracks - 182 to 285 - Edition 2
BEAR TRACKS 2021 – New World Disorder
Edition 2
Date of Issue: March 11, 2021
Weight Classes: 182 to 285
UPDATES, ENHANCEMENTS & POT STIRRING INGREDIENTS:
1. STQ2 = State Tournament Qualifier that made it to the blood round, thus won two matches at the state tournament. All of the returning STQ2 wrestlers have been ranked if their weight class can be verified.
2. RANK READY is a new category added. This will be given to one wrestler per weight class, per classification, if applicable. This wrestler currently does not meet the ranking criteria because their schedule simply hasn’t given them the opportunity. However, the wrestler is deemed to be in the top 10 now.
3. STQ1 = State Tournament Qualifier that won one match at the state tournament. These wrestlers are currently ranked only if they meet the other ranking criteria.
4. STQ = State Tournament Qualifier that did not win a match at the state tournament. These wrestlers are currently ranked only if they meet the other ranking criteria.
Ranking Overview:
• Wrestlers are ranked based on how they placed at last season’s state tournament.
• Non-placing wrestlers get ranked for wins over returning state placers.
• Non-placing wrestlers get ranked for close losses to returning state placers.
• Non-placing wrestlers now get ranked for significant performance such as winning a tournament or placing well in a more substantial tournament.
• As matches occur, head to head wins drive the ranking train.
• Returning state tournament qualifiers have to do something significant this season to get ranked.
• Due to social distancing requirements, Bear Tracks will now be broken down into four different weight class ranges. Based on previous years’ feedback, many of you watch one or two weight classes very closely.

Re: Bear Tracks - 182 to 285 - Edition 2
Looks like Parker Bentley of mussleman is competing at 220. Cabell Midland’s Ethan Cochran lost to edge 3-1 on Tuesday. I haven’t found anything for Woodrow Wilson yet.

I watched VanMeter vs Bentley on Musselman's Live Feed. After the match, I was chatting with somebody who was there. They said Bentley was going 195. I went ahead and put him there.
Edge vs Cochran was found and put in "DataBearBase". I decided to add it to edition 3 because I had to research Cochran. A 3-1 loss to a returning runner up is significant in my book.
Woodrow had their first two matches cancelled. Gauldin's weight class has been verified to me. I am waiting for Osborne finalize a weight class.
Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming.
Who knows, maybe rankings will decide state titles and placement. It happened in football.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

I see that Kuhn is back and I see the scores. He will be acknowledged as the new #2.
Stay on those Lewis County people to make sure the scores get posted.

Re: Bear Tracks - 182 to 285 - Edition 2
I'm not sure how many matches Kuhn has wrestled this season and he didn't get to wrestle last season due to injury. So, I don't think its an egregious oversight to not have him up there near the top.

No oversights on this topic. Once I saw Kuhn popping up in the scores, he went onto the "to be ranked list". He has had some significant wins.
He will be on BT 3.0 coming out today.
I simply need EVERYBODY to look over the rankings and provide feedback. Not all significant matches have their results posted.
Thanks to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great minds think alike. I was running down intel on Taylor this morning. I heard he and Fuelhart have wrestled twice this season. I didn't know the scores.
Keep the information coming.
Thanks!!

I know and thanks. My comment about people looking over the rankings was for everybody. The rankings are a snapshot of where we are. Obtaining all of the information is impossible without the help of everybody. I am just a data collector that is putting the data together.
I also hope to get 4.0 out in the next two days. I have been experiencing too many "forfeits" or people failing to make weight among my business' workforce.

Where is Conaway from North Marion, He never wrestled the Big 10.
Re: Bear Tracks - 182 to 285 - Edition 2
Conaway injured his knee and has to have surgery so his season came to a halt.

Thanks! Should be a 4-6 week recovery. We discussed him wrestling Big 10 but didn’t want to risk further damage.
