South is in 3rd place, trailing only #5 Wyoming Seminary and #7 Lake Highland Prep.

Josh Humphreys just won his semi match 16-0 to advance to the finals. Great job Josh!

Whoever seeds this tournament does a great job! You see a lot of chalk when you look at the results.
Might be a difficult job too since you have so many schools from 8-10 states.
It's a shame they still have the pill in the WV state tournament.

There were a truckload of unseeded wrestlers in the quarters. I can go back and count if you want. What are you talking about?
The pill removes human error and emotion from the equation. Nothing is perfect.

Yes there were some unseeded wrestlers that did very well but keep in mind that there were 51 teams from 10 different states.
I disagree and think they did a good job seeding.

I refuse to believe that the solution to removing "some" human error from seeding is to remove all human judgement from the equation by using the pill.
I think mistrust is probably at the root of this argument.
Yes there will be some wrestlers who may get seeded slightly less/more than what they deserve because of some voting without enough info or maybe even some bias in a few cases but I trust that the integrity in this sport would far outweigh the bias.
A possible solution to the info problem is for some common source to provide info to everyone that votes.
I hope the powers to be will consider change.

South was best among Public schools in the tournament. # 5 and #7 in the nation finish ahead of them.

Braxton Amos has won the Ironman and Powerade tournaments this month. Time for a new #1 in the country at 220 in all rankings.

Great job by the wrestlers and coaching staff at the school. Very good showing by WV!

I watched all the finals on line and Amos and Humphries where two of the most dominat I watched. the storacoli kid from Erie prep would be close but the 2 kids from South was brutal....both where not that close, 10-2 humphries and 4-0 Amos. both of the opponents where dominated amd I mean that with respect for their opponents..

Flo has him at #2 behind Mason Parris (Sr, Flo champ). It'll be hard to knock him off without a head to head. I don't know how Intermat has him so low (5). He beat Kirkvleit at Fargo.
Humphries should move into the top 10 with the Powerade championship, he beat #9 in the nation (intermat) in the finals.

I’m going by who they have wrestled and what tournaments they have won this year. In Parris’s defense, they have travel restrictions in the state of Indiana, which hurts his chances of wrestling in bigger tournaments. Wish they could hook up, it would be interesting.

152 is a pretty even weight class in top 15. Ruffin from ga beat artalona Florida who finished 2 at ironman and in the finals beat balmeceda who won super 32. Humphrey beat Ruffin and than lost to balmeceda at super 32.

Would it be possible to see a Braxton Amos and Mason Parris head to head at FloNationals up in IUP? That would be a monster matchup, I assume Mason will be there, since he won it last year...and it isn't very far for Braxton to travel.

He's a Senior, and already committed to a D1 school for next year. He won't be wrestling in high school tournaments over the summer.

If you have seen Mason Parris you would know that he is on a different level. I have no problem with any ranking that puts him at #1. Mark gave Mason way better genetics than I gave Braxton and on top of those genetics, the young man works his butt off. Great hard working kid who will have success at Michigan.
In addition to Mason, there are many other great wrestlers around the country and in the State of WV who could subjectively be ranked ahead of Braxton. What one guy views as a strength another views as a flaw. The rankings are fun to read but serve as neither a motivator nor a distraction.

Braxton is blessed to go to a school with an Administration, Coaches and Parents who support the idea of a challenging schedule.

Agreed, he is very good. I saw him at Flo. The Wolverines are getting a very good class with him, Silva, and Lewan.
