High school wrestling has been on a general decline nationally for 8 years now, since it peaked in 2010-11. The last two years it has risen slightly, but overall wrestling participation is the lowest it has been since the 2004-05 season. I find it kind of interesting that it is suddenly an issue of concern when all sports decline, but barely news when it is wrestling declining for nearly a decade.
