2022 Larry Snuffer Slam Feb. 5, 2022

Shady Spring High School will be hosting the 2022 Larry Snuffer Slam on Saturday, February 5th, 2022 at Shady Spring High School, 300 Hinton Rd, Shady Spring, WV 25918. This will be a 12 team individual pools tournament allowing each wrestler to get 5 matches if each team has a wrestler at that weight. Rosters will be due February 2nd,2022 so that openings can be filled by JV wrestlers. Two JV wrestlers per team can also score points for their team to encourage maximum participation. JV openings will be filled in order of confirmation of tournament attendance one wrestler per team with the weight class opening chosen by the team to fill an as many openings as possible are filled. Weigh-ins/Skin Checks will be at 8:00 AM and wrestling will begin at 9:30 AM. Wrestling will be done on 4 mats in two adjacent gyms. Only short breaks to allow the officials and coaches to eat and to calculate the advancement pool matches will be taken.
The entry fee is $175.00 with a check required at weigh in made payable to: Shady Spring High School Wrestling. A hospitality room will be provided and affordable concessions will also be available if approved by the local health department.
Wrestlers will be assigned to one of 3 pools of 4 wrestlers. The winners of each pool will wrestle, runner ups of each pool will wrestle and so on. For tie breakers head to head results will be used to determine advancement pool placement.
Team Scoring will be done based on final placement of the individual wrestlers. 1st place=10 points, 2nd place= 8 points, 3rd place= 6 points, 4th place= 4 points, and 5th place= 2 points. Wrestlers placing 6th through 10th will not score points toward team totals.
Awards will be given for: First, Second, and Third Place Teams and Individuals, and Outstanding Wrestlers from 106-145 and from 152-285.
