WV Teams representing well out of state!

Postby WouldaShouldaCoulda » Sun Dec 18, 2016 12:38 pm

Good job Keyser at the East Liverpool OH tournament. First time for Keyser in an Ohio tournament in several years and Keyser represented WV fairly well for a early season tournament! And congratulations to all the teams representing WV as they wrestle out of state competition!

What other teams were there at EL? Beaver Local just had their Hoppel Tournament this weekend. If you were coming north looking for good Ohio competition that would be a good event to attend. Beaver Local is only 10 minutes away from East Liverpool.

I believe there were 16 teams at East liverpool. I think all but 3 or 4 were Ohio teams. Keyser and Weir were the only WV teams. I'm not really familiar with Ohio wrestling. I thought the team from Alliance, OH was very good. The format was different from any high school tournament I've seen. Each weight class was divided into separate pools. Then after three rounds the winners of the pools wrestled semis and then finals. For Keyser this was a new tournament experience and an enjoyable one at that.

East Liverpool has one of the nicest gymnasiums in that area. East Liverpoolwould be a great place have a tri state battle!!!

I would like to thank Keyser for coming to East Liverpool, it was the 1st year we used a pool format. It worked quit well. We had teams from 3 different states, and as far away as 3 hours!
Results can be found here: http://www.baumspage.com/wr/wrevent.php ... 81&table=C

As stated EL has one of if not the best gymnasium in the tri state area! Perfect for wrestling event.

contact Tim Sarge if you are interested in attending next year?

If you do not make it, just give some money to one of South's wrestlers. They can buy the food for Frank and I.
