Donnie Crawford, 3:10With the aid of two forfeits and a victory-clinching pin in the heavyweight class, Parkersburg South just managed to slip by Cabell Midland 37-35 in the season opener for both teams. It took the final match to bring some life into the usually boisterous South fans, who remained relatively quiet during the match (due largely to several Cabell Midland pins and a close decision). But first-year wrestler Erik Spriggs saved the day for South with his first-period pin of Jared Childers, keeping South's in-state dual meet winning streak alive.
