Team History

  • 70-75 - Cameron started a Jr. High wrestling team coached by Jim Potts
  • 75-76 - Woody Yeater
  • 76-78 - John Chambers
  • 78-85 - Bob Baird - A few of coach Baird's highlights
    **Bob Baird has been involved in Cameron wrestling 71-06 (39 years). He started the first pee-wee program. He was instrumental in wrestlers participating in summer camps. He also ran a summer camp (Solid Gold) at Cameron and this year will be helping Coach Potts with the Jr. High **First Jr. High Tournament Championship (1980 - East Park)
    **Three undefeated wrestler's (1982) - Ronnie Trowbridge, Mike Knox & Dave Hinerman. All 3 went on to be WV State Champs 1983
    **Coach Baird named OVAC Coach of the Year **Produced 7 Jr. High OVAC Champs
  • 85-89 - Jim Rogers, Bob Baird -- During this time the Jr. High was on a roll, winning 11 tournament championships and had a dual record of 59-9-1 (Undefeated season 1989)

  • 89-90 - Jim Rogers, Bill Dudas 8-7-1
  • 90-92- Jim Rogers, Ron Trowbridge
    **Coach Rogers and Ron Trowbridge went on another roll (30-4-1) with 5 Tournament Championships.
    **Ronnie a state champion for Coach Potts -- Wrestled at WVU and has been involved in coaching at both levels since he graduated from college. Now he is back helping Coach Potts with the Jr. High

  • 92-93 - Bill Dudas, Bob Baird 6-5-1

  • 93-94 - Dick Ochenbein, Bill Dudas 7-4, No Tournament Finishes
  • 94-98 - Steve White, Gene Wood, Bob Baird - The Dragons won 6 Tournament Championships and ran a 54-14 dual meet record
  • 98-00 - Steve White- Jeff Hughes 10-13-1 (7 wrestlers)
  • 00-02 - John Wright - Best wrestler Jeff Pettit (State Runner Up); Did a good job, numbers down
  • 03-05 - Dave Hall- 5 Wrestler team (but quality)
  • 06-07 - Jim Potts, Bob Baird, Ron Trowbridge
  • 07-08 - Daniel Gatts
