WVU is 6-21 all-time against Penn State but did manage a 22-10 victory over the Nittany Lions in Morgantown last season. Current Mountaineers Joe Carr (157), Tom McMath (165), Greg Jones (174) and Ryan Kehler (HWT) recorded victories in the win.
The Mountaineers last wrestled on December 7 when they defeated Clarion, 23-12. Penn State's one victory also came against Clarion. The Nittany Lions' loss was a 20-16 decision to No.14 Edinboro in their last dual meet on December 8.
The Mountaineers will return to action Saturday, January 12, when they travel to Columbus, Ohio, to battle No.7 Ohio State.
