WVU WRESTLING MOVES UP ONE SPOT TO NO. 12

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (December 10, 2003) - The West Virginia University wrestling team moves up one spot to 12th in the latest collegiate wrestling poll announced late Tuesday by Intermatwrestle.com.

In addition to the team's Top 15 ranking, the Mountaineers have six wrestlers ranked in the latest poll. Greg Jones (184) is the highest ranked Mountaineer. The junior, who has yet to see action this season, holds a No. 2 ranking.

West Virginia's most productive wrestler this season has been Matt Lebe (157). The sophomore leads WVU in victories with a 14-2 record and is ranked 13th.

Joe Clarke (141) sits at No. 16 in the country. The senior has already earned two tournament titles (WVU Open and Navy Classic) this year.

Juniors Ryan Wilman (174), Matt Daddino (197) and Brent Miller (HWT) also find themselves among the nation's best. Wilman and Miller, both NCAA qualifiers, are ranked 16th and fifth respectively. Daddino is currently ranked 15th in his first season for West Virginia.

The Mountaineers return to action at The Midlands Tournament on, Dec. 29-30, in Chicago, Ill.
