MOUNTAINEERS FALL TO NITTANY LIONS, 24-13
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 10,2004) - The 12th-ranked West Virginia
University (1-2, 0-0) wrestling team fell 24-13 in dual meat action to 1lth-ranked Penn State
University (4-0, 0-0) on Saturday evening at the WVU Coliseum.
The NITTANY Lions ended a three-match drought against the Mountaineers in taking six of
ten matches from West Virginia. Penn State received strong performances from No. 3 ranked
Josh Moore, No. 8 ranked Matt Stormiolo and James Waddell in taking three of the first four
matches on the night to open a 11-3 team lead.
"We wrestled against a very good team in Penn State tonight," said head coach Craig
Turnbull. "They had a lot of momentum coming in after big wins over Lehigh and Pitt. I think
some of our guys could have wrestled better. Penn State came in and took care of business."
