MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University wrestler Greg Jones has been named the College Sports Television (CSTV) student-athlete of the week for his efforts in two victories last week.

The Slickville, Pa., native won his third All-Star Classic match on Nov. 22, with a 3-2 decision over Iowa All-American and No. 2 ranked Paul Bradley. Jones improved to 3-0 all-time in National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Star Classic matches. In 2003, he defeated Oklahoma State’s Chris Pendleton, 7-3. Last year, Jones scored a 10-6 victory over Northern Illinois’ Ben Heizer.

The senior Mountaineer picked up a second win over a ranked opponent on Nov. 27, when Jones scored a 6-3 decision over No. 6 ranked Travis Pascoe of Nebraska in WVU’s season-opening dual meet.

Jones, a two-time NCAA champion, boasts a career record of 107-4, 13 wins shy of becoming West Virginia’s all-time wins leader.

CSTV is a multi-media company consisting of the first 24-hour college sports television network and televises regular season and championship event coverage from every major collegiate athletic conference. Through its numerous platforms, CSTV provides more live college sports games, events, news, information, analysis and broadband content, and reaches more college sports fans, than any other company.

Jones and West Virginia returns to tournament action with a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., for the Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 3-4.
