WVU Tech Drops Match at Ohio Valley University

VIENNA, West Virginia -- The Golden Bears took on the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley University in Vienna, West Virginia Tuesday evening, dropping the match 40-6. WVU Tech wrestling now holds a dual record of 0-2 this season while Ohio Valley moves to 2-0.

The points picked up by Tech were earned by freshman Will Van Hoose and junior Jason Wainright.

Van Hoose (184 lbs.) faced Austin Antill and won by decision with a 4-1 score over the Fighting Scot. Wainright (285 lbs.) also won by decision, 3-1, over Ohio Valley's Ben Willard.

Juniors Colton Rowe and Terry Nance II kept their bouts close, both falling by one point in a decision. Rowe fell 3-2 at 174 lbs. while Nance dropped a 6-5 decision at 197 lbs.

Up next, Tech will host Penn State Du Bois in their home opener on Friday, November 11 to help kick off WVU Tech's Homecoming. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Baisi Athletic Center.
