Wrestlers Cruise to 33-9 Victory vs. St. Andrews

MONTGOMERY, West Virginia The WVU Tech wrestling team won four of five matches wrestled against St. Andrews University on Friday afternoon as the team secured the 33-9 victory in a dual at the Baisi Athletic Center.

The Golden Bears captured bonus points when sophomore Andrew Reininger (285) recorded a pin at 6:28. The two bouts before that were also Tech victories, including a thrilling 3-2 win by junior Terry Nance II at 197 pounds. Junior Colton Rowe (184) won by major decision over the Knight's Argie Burnette, 11-4. Sophomore Othniel Edmond won the 133 weight class with a 7-2 decision.

Tech's loss, besides forfeit, in those five matches included a 5-1 setback by junior Giovani Lins at 165 pounds.

The Gold and Blue (2-8) will continue its schedule tomorrow, Saturday, when they travel to Washington and Lee University for the John Crytzer Invitational in Lexington, Virginia.
