Wrestlers Cruise to 33-9 Victory vs. St. Andrews

MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — The WVU Tech wrestling team won four of five matches wrestled against St. Andrews University on Friday afternoon as the team secured the 33-9 victory in a dual at the Baisi Athletic Center.
The Golden Bears captured bonus points when sophomore Andrew Reininger (285) recorded a pin at 6:28. The two bouts before that were also Tech victories, including a thrilling 3-2 win by junior Terry Nance II at 197 pounds. Junior Colton Rowe (184) won by major decision over the Knight's Argie Burnette, 11-4. Sophomore Othniel Edmond won the 133 weight class with a 7-2 decision.
Tech's loss, besides forfeit, in those five matches included a 5-1 setback by junior Giovani Lins at 165 pounds.
The Gold and Blue (2-8) will continue its schedule tomorrow, Saturday, when they travel to Washington and Lee University for the John Crytzer Invitational in Lexington, Virginia.
