Grapplers compete at Messiah Petrofes

GRANTHAM, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech wrestling competed at the two-day Messiah Petrofes in Grantham hosted by Messiah College Friday and Saturday. As a team, the Golden Bears finished 13th out of 15 teams.
Senior Tristan Bean continued his strong season with a fifth place finish overall in his weight class of 133 lbs. Bean posted four wins including a major decision (20-8), decision (12-7), fall (4:56) and a decision (9-3) in his final bout.
Freshman Tanner Harris also placed for the Gold and Blue, finishing eighth at 141 lbs. Harris won by fall (1:59), major decision (15-7), fall (1:20) and decision (6-3) on his road to placing.
Also picking up pins during the tournament were sophomore Clay Fritz (2:12) at 157 lbs. and freshman Cameron Crislip (4:39 and 1:36) at 165 lbs.
The Golden Bears will return to the mat this Wednesday, December 5 when they travel to Alderson Broaddus University at 7 p.m.
