Tech takes down St. Andrews in AAC dual, 32-20

LAURINBURG, North Carolina -- In Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action, WVU Tech defeated St. Andrews University 32-20 Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Bears are now 4-4 in duals overall, 3-1 (AAC) while the Knights move to 1-4, 0-2 (AAC).

The team won six bouts, four on the mat and two by forfeit. Sophomore Logan Robertson picked up the first victory by action with a major decision over Dominic Burke 18-0 at 141 lbs.

Fellow classmate Devin Wilhelm was next at 149 lbs, defeating Aiden McDonald 10-0.

Junior Leland Swafford earned the lone fall of the dual, taking down Jacob Arnold at 157 lbs. in 1:47.

The final Golden Bear win on the mat was earned by freshman Cameron Crislip, 15-1, who battled against Jonathan Zafra at 165 lbs.

Up next, Tech will travel to New Philadelphia, Ohio for the Golden Eagles Tri-Match to face host school Kent State University at Tuscarawas and University of Akron on Saturday, January 19.
